It’s a nice little hike up a hill with sometimes views over Popayan. At the top, where the ‘tres cruces’ are, isn’t much to see though. Most of the views you’ll have during the walk up or down. We were happy with our good hiking boots, they’re not necessary but they’re helpful if it rained a lot (which it did in our case).

Some views are pretty and it's cool to be out of the city for a bit. But ALWAYS stay on the main paths where there are other people. We got mugged on an empty secondary path behind. I'm not saying it's common or uncommon there; but if it happened to us, it can happen to you. Just stay with the crowd.
It's ok
There is no view from the 3 crosses as its blocked by brush and trees. Also the person who lives just next to the 3 crosses has a bull terrier that runs loose biting, and it bites hard. It would've done serious damage if the owner hadn't come out to use his motorcycle. Definitely don't take kids.
Spectacular views across city and countryside. Good hike to site but a bit untidy. Can get good local food and sugar cane juice at the crosses. Well worth the hike.
Nice climb up and down. The view at the top is somewhat obscured, but nice all the same. Tasty empanaditas in the kiosk at the top
A lovely walk on a weekend, and great to get some time out of the cities. The 3 crosses are really mediocre, but do have a sugarcane juice & empanada when you get to the top!
