If I could go less than 1 star I would Rented us a vehicle with a retread tire. We had a blow out. Now they want to charge for brand new rim and tire. Supervisor conveniently has a meeting and can't discuss. Clearly not our fault. You can clearly see where it was resealed. The hancook logo is clearly cut off. Extremely unprofessional but mostly dangerous. Could have killed my whole family. Horrific experience.

DONT USE THEM I booked my reservation directly with Budget. The location that booked us and accepted our reservation was closed and we were sent by their security guard to another location where they then charged us more than our confirmed rate. Diego told us this was because it includes taxes. I showed him that our original rate total already included the taxes and this was easily demonstrated in the confirmation email they gave us. Diego promised us that when we brought the car back they would fix it.. hours later on the phone with this office and they are not honoring it. BEWARE: there are driving restrictions on certain days for certain license plates in Colombia...ON TOP OF THE FRAUDULENT EXTRA FEE THEY COULDN'T EXPLAIN. they gave us a car to use that we couldn't drive for 5 hours of the day we rented. This is an absolutely fraudulent branch of budget that isn't actually part of the budget company. i called the international Budget number and they informed me that this branch operates independently and only paid to use the name.

Renting a car in Bogotá is torture. Don't do it unless you have to. Don't buy the insurance online as they will make you buy it again at the pickup point or you don't get a car. This is as good a place to rent in Bogotá as any because ALL of them are horrible. I've rented from them all and this one is no worse or better than the rest.

They are thieves. They take advantage of foreigners! Someone crashed into us in Bogota and after police report and all was done the guy who rented us the car at Budget convinced us that in Colombia the owner of the vehicle is responsible for all damages even if it was not their fault. Becuse they already had our CC on file, they charged us for all the car damages even though we were not at fault. Had to dispute charges with CC company and luckily our family in Colombia are helping us with this from over there now that we are back home. Don’t rent from them!!!

After reading all those bad reviews, I was quite concerned if I made the right choice, but as a positive suprise, everything was exemplary from A to Z. The guys at the desk were very friendly and competent. Due to Pico y Placa (be aware!) inconveniences, they even allowed and organized us a different car after the first day. Both of the cars were relatively new, clean and in nearly perfect condition. It was one of my best car rental experiences so far (worldwide). Recommendations: You either want a tiny agile car or a huge impressive one... everything in between you just loose in the local traffic conditions. DO NOT drive around rushhours or you will immediately regret it.

Screwed us over. The car we rented just happened to not be available the day we arrived. They said they would give us a random, much smaller car (we were 6 people) in the meantime and the next day switch for the car we asked for in the first place. When it came time to do the switch, the employee was supposed to meet us at our hotel at 8-9 am. It was 12 am and they still hadn't arrived because they were "lost." We couldn't comprehend how someone who lives in the city could be lost for that long. So we then said we'd meet the person wherever they were currently lost in. When we got there, there wasn't anyone around. We told them to forget about it because we had already lost half the day. A few days later, we switched cars to a slightly larger car, but the AC was broken. It was just such an unfortunate series of events and they didn't seem to care that they had ruined almost our entire week in bogota.

Couldn't care less! We had the same experience as other people that have reviewed this company in that we booked a Mazda and got a Ford. We drove to Choachi, about 1.5 hours away, when the car broke down. It didn't recognise the ignition fob (keyless ignition). We phoned up budget who told us that the car had done this before, but they thought it would alright!! Luckily I had internet access on my phone and searched for a solution on youtube. There is a secret pocket for the fob that allows the car to start. Why didn't budget know this? We had to avoid travelling back on the day we wanted to because of Bogota's pica y placa congestion reduction scheme, which relates to the number plate (placa) and odd numbers drive on odd dates, even numbers on even dates. Budget only had even plates. If you get caught breaking this rule the police will impound the car!! A heavy fine will get the car released. On the way back we passed through some dusty roads and they said they would normally charge us for cleaning it, but would waive it this time. How kind! No apology for the breakdown nor discount for the inconvenience. Use another company!

On Friday they sent me a confirmation for my reservation, which I had done some 6 months before, on tuesday they tell me they dont know about my reservation and they dont have a car! Must have given it to someone who paid a little extra, didnt seem overly surprised either that my reservation couldnt be found! Service was much better and much more serious last year.
