This reserve is excellent for birding in the mid elevations of the Andes. Many birds that are difficult to find can be found here including a few Colombian endemic birds. Accommodations nearby are okay to good but bring your own water or other beverages as the local water is not safe for consumption. Worth the drive and a full day of birding the trails and main road in.
