Positives: Central location, within one minute of main square. Hammocks with a view of the valley were nice. Negatives: Upon arrival, the woman showing us to our room informed us that we ‘wouldn’t sleep well’ as the room faced the street and there was a bank holiday festival. What a welcome! We did sleep very poorly both nights as we could hear loud music, people shouting, horses, sirens and there wasn’t a real window but rather a wooden door with a ‘window’ opening (this didn’t feel particularly secure either). Our toilet became blocked and when we asked if they could take a look we were accused of having put paper down it (which we hadn’t). Eventually someone came to ‘fix’ it, plunging it and leaving dirty toilet water all over the toilet seat and bathroom floor, which was really unsanitary as the bathroom wasn’t really separate from the bedroom. As a result, we had to change rooms which was annoying as we had to pack up all of our things (we only had one day in Filandia). However, the whole hotel was empty that night and we were still given a room facing the street. Another sleepless night! WiFi is intermittent, breakfast very beige and we were given no tips about exploring the area. Check out was a nightmare: we asked if we could have a discount because of the ordeal and the staff were dismissive and rude. Then to top it off the card machine didn’t work and we had to run to the cash point so that we didn’t miss our bus. It seems like this was once a nice place but the lonely planet review is no longer accurate. You can get WAY better for 160,000 a night in Colombia. By far our worst hotel experience of a 3 week trip. Glad to see the back of it!

Muy buena ubicación, a una cuadra del parque principal. El hotel evoca las casas antiguas, con teja de barro, pisos en madera, camas antiguas, puertas y ventanas de madera y con seguros rústicos. Cuenta con comodidades tales como lencería en croché en perfecto estado, así como sábanas suaves, toallas en perfecto estado y colchones muy cómodos; duchas y baños en perfecto estado, jardín y fuente interior a la vieja usanza. El desayuno incluido es delicioso y con suministro de un espectacular café de la región, preparado en casa, disponible en todo momento que se requiera. La Sra. Irene y Mary son muy amables en su atención y tienen el hotel impecable. Se debe tener en cuenta que por las ventanas antiguas, se filtra el ruido de la calle en las noches, situación que se puede compensar, aprovechando la inmensa variedad gastronómica, artesanal, cafetera y de diversión que ofrece el hermoso pueblo de Flilandia. Recomendado 100%
