Este instituto de investigación oceanográfica es autoridad en la costa atlántica de Colombia. No tiene acceso al público pero sí cuenta con una plazoleta en donde las personas pueden ir a tomar el sol y en muchos de los casos van también niños a andar en sus bicicletas y patines ya que es una zona segura para ellos y para disfrutar de estas actividades.
