If you are an American visiting Cartagena, then this local is probably the "safest" in the city. Hang out here. Because if you stray outside the vicinity and start to visit other parts of the city on your own, then you will likely feel like you are in South City Miami, Florida. If you have not contracted a local escort familiar with the area, then I strongly encourage you to stick to the confines of this barricaded tourist community. Just my experience here.

Very interesting museum, I highly recommend it. Only giving 4 stars because I really wish it had air conditioning or at least fans Note: most is in Spanish, so...learn Spanish \u200d️ Or take a translator with you. I found the inquisition part of the museum extremely impactful. Worth the visit, for me.

The exposition is focused on the history of Cartagena, so don't expect a lot of exhibits about the inquisition. But the exposition above all is really good, it explains the complete history of the city and has amaizing visual aids

Very disappointing. Not much in English. The inquisition part was very small and had very few artifacts, most of it was pictures but even they were few. Rest of the museum was about the history of Cartagena all in Spanish. The best part of the museum is the building and the courtyard. But you can look at beautiful buildings for free walking around in centro histórico.

An interesting place to learn more about the inquisition that took place during the Spanish colonial times. There's not enough information in English. Many of the items they have are replicas. We paid a local to give us a tour.

Explains the history of the region really well. I wish every text was translated to English as well. You still get a lot but if I had to guess I'd say maybe 1 out off 5 exhibit descriptions or just texts on the wall are translated to English. Definitely go have a look at the garden, the tree covering the entirety of it is amazing.

We took this tour off a Carnival cruise. Our guide spoke excellent English which made our visit more enjoyable since most signs were in Spanish. The small museum gave a overview of Cartagena's history. No AC but the gardens were refreshing. I am glad we saw it and would recommend going.

Beautiful museum in the heart of the walled city. Very sad to see how people were tortured in the past and how much cartagena rrlied on the slaves. Its a nice place to spend 2 hours.
