It's perfect destination for people who are looking to spend some time in nature but comfortably. I loved everything about my stay at Playa Mecana in Ecohotel. Amazing location with quiet and clean beach surrounded by lovely forest (I love jungle hikes especially with an ocean view). There are several different activities you can enjoy during your stay. Ecohotel Mecana itself has super friendly staff, tasty food. Best holiday ever!

The story of Mecana Ecolodge and Reserve is one that needs to be shared. Luisa, the administrator and owner of the lodge is as much a part of the Pacific as the coconut palms having visited the coast with her family since she was a child and now has dedicated her life to its protection. The family sold their design business and decided to buy a big piece of land with the intention of conservation, education and investigation. They invited Antonio, a local hunter who used to bring the family bush meat to work with them, using his deep knowledge of the jungle to guide people through the forest and mangrooves of the reserve. Now they are officially registered as a botanical garden and recive guests from the scientific community and other nature enthusiasts due to the extensive biodiversity of the land. The home is very welcoming and homely with many friendly four legged friends and a slightly grumpy blue mcaw called Libre. The rooms are comfortable, bright and spacious with great matresses and pillows. The staff are very friendly, the meals delicious and nutritious and generously portioned! The tours are diverse and interesting from expeditions in kayaks, forest walks, snorkleing and whale watching, you certainly wont be bored! Mecana beach is a great location and one of the best beaches of Bahia solano without a doubt. Thank you to Luisa and her team for being so kind, generous, hospitable and passionate about what you do. we really enjoyed our stay and hope to return soon!
Un lugar muy ecológico, la casa es espectacular, tiene un jardín hermoso y una vista a la playa suprema. Cuando elijes la opción de dormir allí puedes arrullarte con el sonido de las olas.
