La Mulata was recommended to me by a local for the best authentic Colombian cuisine. The food was amazing! I went to La Mulata twice during my stay in Cartagena!

We had lunch there and really enjoyed it. The mango margarita, Mulata mojito, and shrimp ceviche were great. The chicharon was good. But not amazing. Should have stuck with the seafood. But overall, a very enjoyable lunch. And the complimentary plantains and soup were a nice touch.

It is located in the historic part of Cartagena with simple but welcoming premises. The soup was good and the fish dishes also cooked very well. The very good service from a single very good waitress. Prices more than honest!

I don’t normally write reviews. They brought us plantain chips that were stale twice. The shrimp and rice dish was mediocre with overcooked small rubbery shrimp. None of the food was salted correctly. The tables were too high for the seriously uncomfortable wobbly chairs. The prices suggest it’s a special restaurant with excellent food. It’s a cafe with average hit or miss food. I would have rather eaten a hot dog from a street vendor and saved the 100000 pesos. Dissatisfied.

My girlfriend and I went for lunch to this restaurant today before returning to Bogota this afternoon, excellent food and a good way to say good bye to Cartagena, we really enjoyed our meals. Very friendly staff. Definitely coming back.

The food was very good (fairly expensive tho) and they give so much complimentary food (soup and fried plantains) that I was already really full before I got the fish. Which was good because there was not a lot of fish to eat. I got the catch of the day - the pargos (I think?) and it was 33.9 mil. All entrees were around 28-30 mil Also the drinks were kinda expensive at 19 mil for a classic daiquiri.

Great place, service and food. The best was the posta negra muy family tried. There are also good drinks and vegetarian options. Amazing suero costeño, with plantains!
