Don't be fooled by the great location, you need to avoid this place. Yes, our split level room was nice looking and spacious. Right next to the Cloud Forest and wonderful birds next to the balcony. But it is cash only. All staff only speak Spanish, not a word of English (not a bad thing, just know ahead of time); the receptionist seemed incompetent. We had no working water when we checked in. Then when it came on, we had no hot water for the first night. Plus, the water was brown. There is no heat, just an alcohol fireplace that does not stay lit and does not warm anything. The fresh towels were dirty (see pic). The whole split level room (three beds) had one tiny trash can (pic). No staff on site between 5PM and 8 AM. Breakfast starts are 8:30 AM, but you want to get up by 6 to see the bird life. Plus, our toilet broke on the last night and there was no one around to fix it. I really wanted to love this place due to the location above Jardin and the great family-style room. Nope, I can't. Even when the Andean Cock of the Rock bird showed up outside our window early one morning, it just made sense that the window was filthy.

No toilet paper first night. No screens. Cash only. Restaurant not up & running. COP 240,000 per night. Got them down to COP 150,000 cash. The pricing appears to be based on number of guests. WiFi comes & goes. Minibar prices mostly COP 3,500 for beer or soda. No climate control, which is why screens would be nice with the robust anophelles population. A bat entered my room thru the roof structure, just as I was going to sleep. I ignored it but, for some reason, my teeth feel... longer this morning. True about the bat, anyway.
No hot water in sink, shower ran out of hot water in a few minutes left to dry off with soap still on me. No coffee In the morning. No staff to be found.
Es un lugar mágico, un hotel expendido con ambientes deliciosos. Súper recomendado. Con una administradora encantadora, se aprecia una esencia oriental en los ornatos y unas cabañas coloniales. De todo mi gusto.
Sitio muy acogedor, bonitas cabañas, comida esta bien, muy frío en las noches y algo de plaga pero muy lindo rodeado de naturaleza. Cómo alguien mencionó algunas zonas parecen no muy concurridas y hay telarañas, es solo crítica constructiva para mejorar un muy bonito sitio
Si te gustan descansar en una cabaña rodeada de naturaleza, el hotel campestre avalon es para ti, super recomendada la cabaña Ginebra, se encuentra en ubicada en un hermoso bosque
