Amazing place that takes fare of rescued species. The animals are way more active before lunch/midday so if you can go as early as they open it’s better. Regular weekdays are also a good strategy so there are fewer people. Because bring repellent (anti-mosquitoes) and sunscreen because a part of the walking tour is just crossing through the Guaduales (a protected species in the region). There aren't many packed animals so don't expect to see a thousand species, they seem to be all in good shape and taken care of. The reserve takes care of abandoned or neglected wildlife so some of them are in the middle of a treatment, like the giraffe (looks grey)

The "Bioparque Ukumarí" is a magical place. Full of nature, animals incredible, is a place that I recommend for to be with family. You should go with tennis and very comfortable clothing, since it has a great green zone, generally it is very hot and the time it flies by. In my opinion, the best of the it place is to see how big and how small we are, or to think about how fragile and/ or hostile we can become with them and that we all occupy the same planet.
Small but well organized Zoo that is an excellent alternative to go with the family in the coffee region.
Went there to see this new zoo in Pereira. Great location the habitats are well made for their animals but they still under construction. I look forward visiting it again over the summer.
Do not go. Total rip off and eogoistic careless staff. - The zoo closed 1,5h earlier than the official closing hours, without prior notice. They wouldn't let us see half the park and did not refund us. - They tried to lie to us about having given us a heads up about earlier closing which they clearly did not. - The only reason I could see for this is that they didn't want to get wet from the approaching rain and that they wanted to dine with their families since it was Saturday. - Outside there were no taxis left to get back to Pereira although the taxi drivers assured us they would stay until 19h. - Only two shady characters offered to take us to Pereira which we declined. - A very friendly family took us back to the main road and warned us about a poor and somewhat dangerous district right next to the zoo. Do not go.
So beautiful eco park. Safe to go with disabled people, family and old people. Lots of variety of animals! :)
The animals over there look good as though they were fed well. The giraffes are pretty.
The best place to learn and see animals of Colombia. Great
