Had one very good trip and another very bad one and it all come down to the vehicles. First one was with a very comfortable car and the other one barely held together. My seat was loose and there was no suspension which caused passengers to jump to the roof at every bump.

Like many others, my bus was late. 2 hours late. Honestly I don't think I knew anyone who said their marsol transfer was anywhere near on time. The seats were pretty small. I'm 5 foot 6 inches and my knees were pretty much to my chest the whole way due to no leg room. There were positives though! The driver was friendly, professional, and a safe driver. Also we did make a restroom stop halfway through for snacks so it wasn't the worse bus transfer I've had.
We had a really bad experience with Marsol. The bus was late (ok this can happen in Colombia) but it was really expensive and the service you get there is horrible. Small seats, no air con for a 6 hours bus ride in the Carribean heat, no Wifi (which even cheaper buses have in Colombia). We used other buses providers before and they were much better. Never again!
I confirmed my shuttle twice to make sure I was waiting in the right place. Two of their buses went past completely ignoring me. I sent them messages on WhatsApp to ask for assistance, they read them and never responded. Terrible service. Left me stranded and no explanation, would've been fine if they at least offered alternative bus time or anything, rather than just ignoring my messages. Don't rely on them, make sure you know alternatives.
I can only confirm the bad reviews. We booked the Bus from Santa Marta to Cartagena. The Bus diden‘t pick us up that day, so we had to travel with a different company to get our flight in Catagena. I would strongly recommend taking another company!
Fellow travelers beware - we bought a direct ticket from Santa Marta to Cartagena. Arrived at the bus station early, and the attendant told us we would get to Cartagena an hour earlier taking the Santa Marta - Barranquilla - Cartagena leg. Told us there’d only be one stop in Barranquilla and we wouldn’t need to change busses. Totally false. Made multiple stops along the way, some fairly out of the way. Had to change busses in Barranquilla. Looks like this 4 hour journey will end up taking at least 6-7 hours. If there’s an alternative company, take it. AC is awful and the busses have no suspension whatsoever.
We used it to go from Cartagena to Santa Marta. Bus was on time, got AC and the driver drove safely, BUT he didn't bring us to our hotel. He literally just dropped us off on a random street and told us to call a taxi. Very rude. Everything else was fine though, and I general if your hotel is in the city center you should not face our same problem.
We booked a 9.30am pick up in Santa Marta at 7.30am that same morning and Marsol showed up on time in a newish mercedes minibus with good air con. The drive to Cartagena took around 5 hours by the time they pickup everyone else. They played a movie on the tv on board and if anything I thought the driver was going a bit slow. No crazy driving, no loud music. I wasnt dropped off at my hostel but only a 5 min walk away. Did I get lucky or maybe Marsol are improving.
