We slept in the tent: highly recommended at this place. It is a fantastic location. Dinner is point off improvement. Also the timely serving of breakfast. We stayed 4 nights; relaxed and hiked..Better visit the National Park for a day and sleep at Mama Tayrona

Key features include a swimming pool and food with a view, but it's really the management that makes it work. Danny and the whole team do it right and they do it tight.
Beautiful place, Fabiana made me feel like home and I returned many times. Her food is fantastic. Highly recommended
This is a nice place, the setting and the pool are lovely. It is owned by a mother/son team, but it is being run by an overinflated 22 year old. The son had his mates staying in the hostel dorms, who were an extremely rowdy, drunk and arrogant bunch and ruined the experience for us. Meal portions were on the skimpy side, and there was no breakfast. There was only wifi in the reception area, which had no comfortable place to sit down. It’s a nice setting, and there is a beautiful river nearby where you can swim and it is close to the national park. However the hotel itself isn’t run to a professional standard and it really is blindingly obvious that it’s being run by a kid who’s making it up as he goes along. I hope that this feedback catalyses some changes in the management approach, as it is a beautiful place, and the mother really is lovely and deserves to run a successful business.
Mama Tayrona Hostel is a gem. The wonder starts as you cross a hanging bridge to arrive at the lounge/ restaurant (tasty meals!). Further up, a river fed beautiful pool and at the top, lush with increíble sun rise/ set views, the rooms. There are trails behind and a river to swim. Fabian, Danny and the crew are kind and beyond helpful. It’s an amazing place to be tucked into nature.
This was definitely our favorite stay (hostel) of our entire trip to Colombia. Besides the location of the hostel being just so so beautiful and tucked away in the jungle, close to Tayrona entrance the staff was incredibly helpful and friendly. The food was some of the best we had on our trip. They make breakfast, lunch and dinner if you wish (even offer vegetarian options). The pool and bar with awesome music and good vibes make it a great option for getting to know other people staying at the hostel as well as getting to know the staff. We made some great friends while staying here. We will Definitely be back when we visit this part of Colombia again...Oh, and the drinks made by Oscar are THE BEST!
Mama Tayrona was the most relaxing and welcoming place we stayed at in colombia. We came back two times because we liked it so much. It's all brand new and beautifully made. It's a great value for money compared to other hostels in the area. The owners are just the nicest people ever and they really care about the well being of their guests.
Had the most unbelievable time at Mama Tayrona hostel! The staff were lovely - fun, friendly and accommodating and the food was amazing (hands down the best food I’ve had in a hostel). The rooms are clean and the views from the dorms are sublime. Honestly, if you’re in the Santa Marta area, you must take time to stay here.
