This was a great tour put on by Damon. A caring man who is eager to help the people in the community by offering this tour. He’s a person who coaches soccer / futbal to the local kids in these communities. What a great dude. On the tour we had a nice hike, swam in some natural pools, ate a delicious, massive lunch and played volleyball. All for an extremely reasonable price. I believe this tour is happening every weekend. On the trip there was a mix of locals and tourists. I had a great time. I also believe he is offering horse back rides and camping In this same area. Please go!

I went because it seemed like a good way to spend some money and time learning about Colombia. I was very surprised how informative it was and how nice the experience was. The food was great for lunch and I got to ride a horse for the first time in my life. Since 50% goes to the social programs I highly recommend going as it’s a fun day and a great cause. James the founder only spoke Spanish but they had folks who would surmise what he said in English so I never felt lost in the narrative. Overall great time.

So many fun things to do their! Natural pools, horseback riding, atv's, camping, and hiking. You feel like you aren't even in the city with all the nature around you. This is definitely a place to check out while you're visiting the city.

Awesome tour that was not only fun, but super informative and gives a proper insight into the Comuna 13 area. We met Damon (who runs the tour) at San Javier station at 9am, and then we took a bus to the main entrance of the Ecoparque, which is a bit off the beaten track (good sign). The main tour was given by James, a local Colombian who is a social leader and founder of the Ecoparque. He explains how social projects like this are transforming his neighborhood. Inspiring to hear his story, and also pleasing to know that tours like this are helping the community. In addition to the tour, there's horseback riding, volleyball, and a pretty solid lunch. Not to mention, the views of Medellin you'll get are some of the best I've ever seen! This tour is a must for anyone visiting Medellin ️

AMAZING! We did the memorial tour with Jàmes and Damon and learned so much about the history, the violence and the beautiful mountains that are behind Comuna 13. We saw the transformation and how important the eco parque is for comuna 13, and how the locals are really resistant. It’s incredible to think that all of that terrible history is so recent, but it’s so good to see the neighbourhood take control back and grow like it is. I’d highly recommend the tour which included a lovely typical lunch, and the animals I the park are really cute.

Amazing place, where you can rest, learn about the local community and support the social project.

These guys have diversified the comuna 13 experience. Guided history hike was awesome and the views were like you just crested the mountain and Medellín is all there sprawled in front of you. Like many places in the city, this spot truly made you forget you are in a giant metropolis. Our guide was James, few of us spoke spanish and we translated for the other guests, it was no issue and they of course are working on a sustainable english option for the future. This isn't like a tour you get hassled for at the metro station, but more like a day of recreation and history. James lived and grew up in the historic comuna 13 area and has an amazing story that compliments the area and the environment and gives lots of meaning to the project. (I dont want to give away a thing from the tour !) But you wont walk past lines of other tourists rushing through the area taking posed pictures. You can swim in the natural pools and use the facilities after the hike/tour, grab a beer or ice cream, they also have a whole kitchen where I fueled up on some rice and beans! Or if you want, I saw some locals who went all in, brought ingredients, a pot, built a fire and threw together a huge soup and relaxed in the shade and swam all day. There is a volleyball court! It is a new project so the logistics arent like those tours that have been running for years it's true but if you want to support something new and unique that truely supports the area we all as tourists are flooding to..this is a spectacular option.

Amazing hidden gem, right in the city. I was surprised I could spend 4 hours horse riding in this little pocket in Medellín. Will definitely go back for the other activities they offer.
