A perfect day, lunch and experience. We joined Finca Avocado for a celebratory lunch during our engagement trip. 10 of us came to the farm and were delighted to learn about organic farming and taste all the produce from the farm in a 5 course lunch! The food, ambiance and hosts exceeded everything we expected. They even performed a small “ceremony” to celebrate our engagement and we all were able to plant a radish after listening to Jens give a beautiful speech on love and friendship. I couldn’t have asked for a better day with friends who’ve become family. Thank you so very, very much!

Such unexpected beauty. Rolling hills of lush country side. Birds chirping. Freshest of air. Surrounded by advocado, orange and lemon trees and other exotics. Black organic soil with every vegetable you could think of. Thank you for your warm hospitality, the education on organic gardening and a gourmet lunch with friends in the garden. Here you feel close to nature!

Best organic farming experience. From the garden to the table! Plus the hosts are the best.

Our last full day in Medellin we decided to travel about an hour outside of the city to Finca Avocado. My girlfriend and I were treated to a truly beautiful and delicious meal with ingredients from the organic garden cared for by Jens (Sebastian) and Kaphryn. Jens walked us through each part of the organic garden starting with the lemon, clementine (orange) and avocado trees. We were able to pick our own produce while Jens shared the history and information on the life cycles of each tree and plant. The garden was full of every vegetable and herb you could imagine. Broccoli, radish, cucumbers, squash, lettuces, peas, basil, rosemary, oregano, thyme and dill. There were many others. The smells and taste of each were stunning and showed a true difference between the produce we eat in the states vs organic. He also showed us exactly what it takes to maintain a truly organic garden and what goes into the day to day care. After a walk around the garden Kaphyrn cooked a 5 course vegetarian meal. Though neither my girlfriend or I nor Kaphyrn nor Jens were vegetarian, the meal was meant to represent all the fresh organic ingredients straight from the garden. We started with an extremely flavorful tomato soup which showed exactly how much more flavor the tomatoes from their organic garden have vs the tomatoes from the US. Next were vegetable and tofu kabobs containing mushrooms, onions, peppers and marinated tofu. For the third course we had a quinoa salad with mangoes, avocados, almonds and raisins. A salad I could eat everyday. Our 4th course was a lentil burger with herbs from the garden, with a fried egg, caramelized onions and cheese on a brioche bun. Never had a lentil burger before but was pleasantly surprised by the flavor. The final course was a chocolate avocado pudding with fresh fruits. This was a perfect way to finish an amazing meal. Overall I would say this was the highlight of our trip to Medellín and would highly recommend this experience.

¡Definitivamente es un lugar mágico perfecto para conectarse con la naturaleza y conocer gente de otros lugares! Todo lo que hay para decir de este lugar es bueno y se hace difícil explicarlo con palabras. ¡Gracias por todo!
