The food is good,but not impressive. Four stars for the beautiful location. Is located in the historic Plaza Bolívar and the restaurant itself is in a historic house with a beautiful garden in the middle. Is kind of pricey.
Lunch is cheap for the location and quality!
The restaurant next door was packed and we were hungry, so we walked out looking for something else. This restaurant had 3 guys outside trying to lure people in. They claimed their ajiaco dish was much bigger and better than the neighbors, and if it wasn’t it would be free. They also claimed their building is much older than the neighbors, their food is better etc etc. We walk in. While it’s beautiful, it is completely empty. Not a single guest. Right in the middle of lunch hour! Red flag #1. My family wants to eat so we sit down. Very bad vibes from the place, it just doesn’t feel right... then they hand us the card. It’s huge and overpriced. Not buying their claims, we asked to see the dish they said was “much bigger” than their neighbors. The guy brings out a tiny bowl... NOPE! We walked out of there. Then the guy who lured us in gets all insulted when we called him out on his bluff. Luckily some seats at the restaurant next door (La Puerta Falsa) had cleared up and we had a great lunch there! With huuuuge bowls of ajiaco & other great food.
Beautiful peaceful Colonial house right in the middle of Bogotá city centre. It is an oasis of calm and peace close to "Plaza de Bolivar". Coffee is great, juices are fresh and delicious. Friendly service, good food. There is a lovely interior garden where it is possible to hear birds singing right in the middle of busy Bogotá. Amazing.
