I love spanish restaurants provided they are really good and taste original as those old conquistadors in beautiful Spain really have a great kitchen. I had a really great meal - the beer was so good even though it was Heineken. Thete really is a lot of love in this restaurant - the cure is beautiful and the place in general is really something special.

Authentic español restaurant. Delicious food with live singing and dancing. Make sure you book your reservations in advance as the restaurant books up quickly. Very romantic to bring a date

OK, having a favorite restaurant in Bogota is nearly impossible. But I have a list of favorites and this Spanish restaurant made it easily on it. The ambience is genuine and very tasteful decorated, what makes it a unique place of Spanish “gemütlichkeit”. The selection on tapas and paellas is just excellent. The highlight however was a stunning two hour flamenco performance of a brilliant local flamenco trio!!! I will come back, just to experience them again in this particular ambience again.

1. It's better if you make a reservation 2. This restaurant has a good plates to eat in pairs and groups is more than enough. 3. If you don't make a reservation you can eat in the front of the restaurant with good tables and with calefactor. 4. La puerta de Alcalá was so fast with the food. As an advice try to have the plate in mind that you want to eat. 5. Enjoy the lunch or dinner with a wine as an option.

Ok, it may be the sangria talking, but I love this place. Both food and service are great. I was here one year ago and tried (and loved) the tapas. This time I tried the paella and was great as well. Salud!

This place was a life saver after an awful experience in a restaurant a couple doors away. And it turned to be more than just a life saver; great service, amazing food and fair prices. My order was some Spanish tapas to share with my friend. We had the "Montaditos de salmón", smoked salmon, cream cheese, red bell pepper, and arugula on top of bread slices; a generous amount of tasty salmon, big enough to overcome the favor of both the bread and the arugula without totally vanishing them. Also tried the "Patatas bravas", boiled potatoes, diced and slightly fried, and then served with a traditional Spanish spicy sauce; good in flavor and size, the bite size the potatoes are diced to are perfect for the mix with the sauce as both flavors combine. Third dish was "Camarones al ajillo", shrimps cooked in garlic and herbs; slightly strong in smell as it should be expected from a garlic sauce, but the flavor was not as overwhelming and actually turned to be a great choice with fantastic texture. Finally, the final one was "Huevos estrellados", a bed of fries with scrambled eggs and Serrano ham on top; kudos on the ham, and the size of the dishes was very good taking into account the regular price of that kind of ham, great taste overall

Cozy friendly space with private and quiet tables. It is about 100m from the busy Usequén center so an easy alternative to crowded eateries near the square. Food was delicious. The Paella Marinera was slightly overcooked but still worth scraping every corner to the end. Tapa La Puerta de Alcalá (house speciality) is a good choice. Desert of Almond Tart on Custard was nice to split. Alas, no decaf option! It would be perfect with coffee.
