They have made a number of improvements to the site that made the place more enjoyable. Their restaurant however needs to have better sanitary conditions to avoid their customers to get sick from their food.. if you catch my drift..

Great for campers and overlanders too. Multiple services are available, but no cell signal at all. I whish they share their WiFi connection to their customers, but they might do if you insist.

We spent the 2020 Christmas break at the farm. Since our last stay in 2019, they have built six cabins with cozy chimneys and a larger restaurant area. The service is quite special and very personalized. They arranged a slow roasting and smoking barrel for pork and BBQ ribs. The indoors cafe offers drinks, cappuccinos (with a shot of rum or brandy) and full restaurant service. We used the Truchera as a basecamp for taking walking trips and to visit the mountain ranges nearby Horizons (Horizontes), which is a 200 inhabitant settling with traditional and well-kept houses. The restaurant staff from San Jose, arranged the traditional fiambre (wrapped in large plantain leaves). We come back every year when we are in Colombia visiting friends and family. The fishing experience is quite unique. They also have a restaurant with several recipes serving trout as thr main dish. The trout soup is a treat. Since they grow thr fish at the farm, you can see and learn about thr fruit farming process. Thr owners (Kike, Pilar, Paulina, or Juan Jose) are typically the yo greet and service in person. They have expanded to offer rooms for a very reasonable price, and real cozy bunk beds (made with wood cut from the local forest). They charge a minimal fee if you prefer camping. You can easily enjoy the whole day, buy fresh trout to take home, and buy all the trout you fish. The trout farm is only 1.5 hours from the city center (Medellin), through a nice road thru the multiple milk farms, which is worth the trip anyway. I learned they are expanding the table service to provide timely service in busy days and Holidays.
Excelente lugar, con mucho verde de naturaleza, un gran espacio para disfrutar de pesca, picnic, caminar. La comida es deliciosa a muy buenos precios y excelente servicio. Si lo deseas te puedes ir todo el fin de semana y disfruta en sus excelentes cabañas de descanso. Belmira Antioquia.
