Amazing people! This family owned place is one of the last ones that offers a real local and authentic experience. Don Rodrigo is a local legend, try to spend some time with him during one of the excursions they propose, so knowledgeable and wise. He’s very attached to nature. “la naturalezza” , is a word that often comes in the discussion. Thanks to his scientific biology background he can offer so much more than just an excursion to the jungle or to the sea, such a passionate and inspiring person! Estrella ( Don Rodrigo’s wife) is an excellent cook. Always smiling and very helpful. Maria (the daughter) is very welcoming and ready to listen and give advice to any request. If you need positive energy this is your place!

Convenient location. Good starting point for whale watching tours or hikes in the surroundings. Basic but decent cabanas with good mosquito nets. WiFi available. Owners only have limited knowledge of English.
Staying at Posada del Mar was a fantastic choice for a trip to the Pacific Coast from Medellín. We rode on the previous reviews, and were rewarded. We personally did not get to meet Rodrigo, but Estrella and her sister Gloria were the most fantastic hosts. Prepare yourself for rain on the coast, but don't let it stop you from great diving, hikes to waterfalls, or some time with challenging surf. If you really want to watch the waves, El Valles is the place, but prices are steep for slimmer amenities. Better to stay here, with the most amazing atmosphere, friendly and knowledge staff, and clean spaces.
I went there because the lonely planet advised to stay there. It a alright but you can find way much better as Yubarta for a very similar price.

Los administradores ofrecen el plan de avistamiento de ballenas en temporada. Son demasiado amables. El lugar tiene ambiente familiar. En contra es que las cabañas son hechas en madera y escuchas demasiado el ruido de los otros huéspedes en los tiempos de descanso. Faltan letreros que adviertan que otros huéspedes pueden desear descansar.
Una posada muy tranquila, buenos precios, una comida deliciosa y lo más importante con manejo sostenible de los residuos, muy ecológica. Recomendada.
Nos quedamos en la Posada del Mar porque vimos en una guía que los dueños eran los mejores guías de la zona y así fue! Rodrigo y Estrella son una pareja super amable, siempre atentos a resolver cualquier duda que tuviéramos sobre cosas a hacer en la zona. Rodrigo ya no ejerce como guía para las salidas en barco de avistamiento de ballenas ni de buceo, pero esta muy implicado en movilizar a agentes locales en el turismo. Nos encantaron sus recomendaciones! Si tenemos el privilegio de volver a Bahía Solano, sin duda nos volveremos a alojar con ellos!
